****Wife Ran Away****

Dear Marriage Marriage,

The pain that I feel is unbearable.  I feel like someone stabbed me in my heart.

I discovered that my wife of fifteen years was cheating.  When I confronted her, instead of being remorseful and working on the marriage, she ran off with the guy.

I am heartbroken.  I think I need your prayers more than advice.

Signed Heartbroken

Dear Heartbroken,

I can only imagine the pain that you feel.  Betrayal is perhaps life's deepest wound.  To look for love and comfort but instead, you get pain and disgrace, is unthinkable. Nonetheless, even in this situation, God can give us beauty for ashes.

Remember, adversity is grace in disguise...if we put the situation in God's hand.  If you look at your situation through natural eyes, you see a wicked woman who needs to be divorced and punished.  In fact, that is what most people will do.  However, marriage is deeper than that.  It is...for better or worse.  It is what it is.

Satan's objective is to destroy everyone's marriage, in fact, he is succeeding as most people are very blind to his modus operandi.  Most people actually think that they are fighting humans. We may live in this flesh but our battle is always spiritual.  Mind always comes before body.  We are fighting the devil and his demonic minions.

A lot of people today, like your wife, have been taken over by, and are in bondage, to lust. Lust is an indiscriminative sexual spirit that is seductive, passionate, and full of sexual fantasy.  As a widower, this spirit has tried me over and over.  Sex is always on the table.  But, so is disease, death, and destruction.

That said,  I encourage you to pray for her and cover her in prayer.  God's hand is not short nor his ear heavy to hear righteous prayer.  Don't divorce her...fight for your marriage!  Rebuke the demon of lust and ask other prayer warriors to pray for your heart as well as your marriage.  God is still a healer and a miracle-worker!  I promise, with Jesus on board,  this will make you better and not bitter!

"Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. or we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."  (Ephesians 6:10-12)
