Food For Thought!
Every now and then we get these bulletins of miracle cures for cancer and health issues. Today, it's hot pineapple water. A couple of years ago it was acai berries. At one time it was the noni fruit. But, it's always false hope.
I will explain.
There is, no doubt, some physical benefits from drinking hot pineapple water, additionally, we don't want to downplay or discount the benefits of proper diet and exercise. Or, the benefits and help of modern medicine. However, and this is divine truth, our attitude and deeds will determine our physical and spiritual welfare on earth.
Every action has a reaction. Every cause has an effect. Every choice has a consequence.
God is not mocked...we reap what we sow. He says that every idle word that a man speaks he will give an account. The world is a matrix created by the word of God.
We live in it and nothing happens by chance.
In fact, the Lord says that the very hairs of our head are numbered and not one sparrow or bird dies without him knowing.
Hmmm. Very deep!
He is the Father or source of everything...everything!
The darkness in our minds, without the grace and wisdom of God, causes us or motivates us to seek other sources of healing, wisdom, and redemption from our physical and spiritual diseases.
Like fools driven by our emotions, we bypass, faith, obedience and humility. Many of us are like King Azzariah who depended on the prophets of Baal for an answer to his health issues, instead of trusting and, most importantly, living for God. He died.
Baal couldn't help him.
"And Ahaziah fell down through a lattice in his upper chamber that was in Samaria, and was sick: and he sent messengers, and said unto them, Go, enquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron whether I shall recover of this disease.
But the angel of the LORD said to Elijah the Tishbite, Arise, go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria, and say unto them, Is it not because there is not a God in Israel, that ye go to enquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron? Now therefore thuss saith the LORD, Thou shalt not come down from that bed on which thou art gone up, but shalt surely die. And Elijah departed.". (2 Kings 1:2-4)
"The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings." (Jeremiah 17:9-10)
