Thought of the Day
An old adage says,
"Good things come to those that wait."
Of course, that's if you are waiting on God. So, are you waiting for God to provide Ruth? Are you a Ruth?
You know that woman who said, "Your God will be my God, and your people my people."
A woman who epitomises unity, unselfishness, and total submission. The woman who unselfishly served her mother-in-law, and, humbly made herself available to Boaz. The Bible says that she is priceless!
There should be a lot of them in our churches; women who love the God of Israel, love people, and unafraid to serve a good man. .But, most women inside and out of church today love the god of this world.
They love pride and arrogance. They embrace feminist ideals that scorn obedience, homemaking, and unselfishness. They rebel against authority and say that they will never be "barefoot and pregnant." They want to lead, not because of necessity but because of lack of faith, desire for control, and limelight.
But, let's be real.
God will only give Ruth to Boaz; a good man, who loves God and loves people. Most men chase after Delilah and are enchanted by Jezebel. Deliah promises sex gllore but left Samson blind and in prison. Jezebel is smart and seems to have everything under control but she sucked the spiritual life out of her husband through domination, control, and...vodoo! When we refuse to be brave and walk in faith, Deliah and Jezebel show up.
You see, the Lord knows how to give good things to people who are patient, obedient, and caring. Because, we always, always, reap what we sow. Like Abraham or any good person, God is the one that provides for them.
"For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?" (Matthew 7:8-11)
