FOOD FOR THOUGHT
I was intoxicated. She had a southern accent that made me go "gaga!" She had the shape and was clothed in brown chocolate skin just the way I like it! Mama!! She was the girl of my dreams and the one I was going to marry! I was nineteen living in the Bahamas and had just met a beautiful girl from North Carolina in the USA that blew me away. I was in love…big time! When she left to go back state-side, I was love-sick for days. I couldn't eat. I cried. And, I wrote her some very long passionate letters. This cycle continued for six months.
Did I marry her?
And, thank God I didn't.
Our cultures were very different. She wasn't a Christian and she is divorced and remarried today. Hmmm. Life…life is never what it appears to be! It's not what you think, hear, feel or see. It's much much deeper than that! To understand life, we need supernatural help. We need God. Because he is the beginning and ending.
Life, everything…everything flows through him!
Wow! Wow! And, a million times…wow! Deep…deep stuff!!
It's the reason he told us never to depend on our physical senses. If we do, we will live in delusion, lies, and deception. Life, will be filled with missteps and very poor choices. You see, the physical world is simply a contact place. The spiritual, the real world, of thoughts, decisions, and will, flows out of the human heart, and only God can see it.
Suppose I had married the girl of my dreams....
Hmmm. Suppose I had run after the fantasy. I would be-most likely-divorced and living in regret today.
It wasn't real!
It was just a feeling….a consuming irresistible feeling meant to entice and entrap! No my friend, It's never…never what you think it is!!!
"Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones." (Proverbs 3:5-8)"Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come." (John 16:13)
