Homemaker: It's Actually A Step Up! (A Forgotten Virtue)

Food For Thought

One of the sweetest and cherished memories of my marriage materialized when Kim (my late wife) became a full time homemaker.  I came home to a very clean house, food on the table, kids bathed and put to bed, and-the icing on the cake-lovemaking was always on time.  Arguments were nonexistent  and I loved giving her whatever she desired.  We were one! We had a little piece of heaven of earth.  In fact, God elevated us to national importance in our country through a televised marriage tv program.  This is what marriage is supposed to be: a heavenly experience of perpetual love, unity and pleasure.  However, for most people, it's the opposite.  There is a perpetual war as husband and wife find themselves on opposite sides.

The big deception is pride: the worship of self.

No one wants to serve.

No one wants to humble themselves.

Men, the leaders, are the biggest problem because they refuse to humble themselves before the Almighty who has all the power in the universe to supply their needs and bring order to their homes.

They refuse to be the spiritual and temporal providers for their families.  Sense, their companions, have likewise followed suit.  They see homemaking as "barefoot,  pregnant and powerless."  To them, it's a disgrace!

Furthermore, every one is running after money; a bigger house, a fancy car, status in society, political clout and the list goes on.  God has been forgotten and the sorrow in households multiply.  Being a homemaker and making one's home a priority instead of money, job and status is wisdom.  More "things" may give us a temporary  feeling of achievement and accolades from the neighbors and friends, but,  it never lasts.  Lives are much more important than physical things and when God is left out the picture, Satan enters bringing confusion, pain, and chaos.  Husband and children suffer!  We need love!

A homemaker is both a guide and guard.  She guides the household through both words and example.  A clean house teaches order and tranquility.  A mother who is home is a counter to the demonic advice and influence that floods the internet.  The world needs more love not money.  Most people today don't know what love is and it's the reason they can't show it.  Society is crumbling because most people have never seen the sacrifice of a homemaker!

"I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully."  (Timothy 5:14) "That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,  To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed."  (Titus 2:4-5)
