The thing that drove Jesus ministry was compassion.
He saw needs and he felt.
He saw needs and it moved him to heal.
He was moved to give.
Compassion moves us to look beyond self, do good, and care for others.
Pride and selfishness gives us the opposite feelings of apathy, hate, and abuse.
We scorn the less fortunate and vulnerable.
We laugh at the ignorant.
We take advantage of the innocent.
We resist good and good people.
"Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee hungry, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal." (Matthew 25:44-46)
