Food For Thought! Feelings are to be Enjoyed not Lived by...

Food For Thought!

Feelings are a very important part of our psychological make-up.  From looking into the eyes of a loving and caring mother as a child to enjoying the companionship of the opposite sex, these feelings give us a sense of enjoyment and stability.  Yet, without proper context, time, and place, they become our undoing and, invariably lead to dysfunction.

As deep, impressionable or ecstatic as these feelings may be, we can't allow them to dictate life.  We must live by reason, understanding and above all...wisdom.  Without wisdom and understanding, we put the cart before the horse.  And, our "feelings" designed to serve and pleasure us, deceive and rule us. Most people today live for pleasure.  Fornication and filling our stomachs has become life's most important reason for living.  Then, as we grow older, some of us derive immense pleasure from having control and having power over others.

(This is the  motivation of today's media: control)

If we don't mature, which is having the ability to think outside of self, we become very childish and spiritual shows who are...very brutish, selfish, and violent if we don't get our way; in short an animal.  Feelings become god...and of course manipulated by Satan, the god of this world system. Our recourse as the wise man Solomon said, is wisdom, the principle thing.  We need the Lord.  People need the Lord.  We need him to show us how to have a healthy balance of discipline and love for our children.

We need wisdom to navigate faults and know how to confront our husbands and wives.  We need wisdom with our money.

We need wisdom to disseminate human behavior.

Wisdom is still the principle thing.

We can't live by feelings... they will deceive and destroy us!

"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction."  (Proverbs 1:7)
"Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding."  (Proverbs 4:7)
