ASK MARRIAGE MECHANICS
Dear Marriage Mechanics,
I am in love with a really nice guy. We have been seeing each other for the past several months
But, I am so afraid of getting married after seeing the many divorces of friends and family members.
Can you help me overcome my fears?
There is good reason to be apprehensive about marriage. We live in a time of great selfishness and deception. Most people lack the wisdom to make marriage work. If our foundation is not the word of God the flood of pride will wash it away.
Most people get married for the wrong reasons and many come into marriage with hidden agendas and unhealed spiritual wounds. All of which are a recipe for disaster. Choose wisely and with much much prayer!
Marriage is a fight! The devil has come down having great wrath knowing his time is short. Marriage represents the foundation of civilization. Everything starts in the home and ends abroad. That's why it is Satan's main area of attack.
That being said, if we prepare ourselve, we can still have success! God has not changed. We have. If we humble ourselves in true and genuine childlike faith, we can weather the satanic storms that wash away marital bliss and dreams.
Find a good marriage counselor, who can give sound Biblical advice and life-coaching. Build your relationship on trust, transparency, good communication and unselfishness. Remember, all things are still possible with God onboard your marriage ship.
"I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed. This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles." (Psalms 34:4-6)
