Inspirational stories to uplift and encourage.  The cases are real; the people are real; the names and places are fake.

The meeting with the pastor was quick and so I would have plenty of time to talk with Evelyn and Jerry.  They were waiting for me outside the church.  The embarrassment was evident on their faces.  Evelyn had committed adultery with a school professor where she had been studying.

I could see the pain in Jerry's eyes. He looked like he wanted to cry.  His manhood was being crushed by the weight of his wife's transgression.  But, he didn't want to let go.  His love for her exceeded the pain he felt.  He wanted to save his marriage and they both agreed to the counseling sessions.

We met at a park once a week for several weeks.  At first, the counseling sessions were explosive with accusations being hurled at each other.  However, as they dug in, they realized the truth.  Pride was the reason for the fall.  Evelyn's arrogance was the catalyst for the adultery.  She refused to listen to her husband's advice about "social distancing" with men and that's how she got the adultery virus.  And, Jerry's lack of sensitivity and wisdom made things worse.

With their eyes open, and hearts full of forgiveness love returned in abundance.  By the end of the counseling sessions, they were pregnant again and on their way to a stronger marriage!  Jesus did it!  To God be all the glory great things he has done!

"Moreover the law entered, that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:"  (Romans 5:20)

"Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it: if a man would give all the substance of his house for love, it would utterly be contemned."  (Songs of Solomon 8:7)
